The first days matches on 1st August were concentrated in three disciplines: Teams Event, Doubles Event and Women Singles Event. while UK team dominated from the very begining, the German and French had to fight hard for the second position in Teams Event, having equal points. However the difference of the coins favoured the French Team.
In Doubles Event the French pair Fabian Pareira and Jonathan Leau was the most successful.
It was an excellent performance of a sixteen year old UK player Ruhen Begum, who beat all senior players in Women Singles Event.
The singles event which went on for ten rounds of Swiss System on 2nd and 3rd August saw the top favourite Karnal Abdin of UK who was unbeaten, while the other UK, German, French and Italian players struggled hard to reach Final.

While Sonahar Ali dominated in the first match beating Karnal Abdin clearly, Karnal won the 2nd match without any trouble. The deciding game of the final was draw after 8 boards (16:16). Finally the fate was decided with an extra board, which Karnal Abdin snatched with great difficulties.
